Situational Leadership Workshop
What is the RIGHT leadership style? Some people think it’s hands-off… other think it’s strongly directive… others claim it’s being supportive or coaching. The reality is that the BEST leadership style is all of the above! The real key is knowing when to use different leadership and management styles to be most effective!
If it’s time to evolve your management style, expose your company’s decision makers, managers and other trailblazers to the concepts, techniques and secrets of Situational Leadership!
This training teaches participants the difference between leadership and management… as well as distinguishing between great leadership, and ineffective leadership. We then delve into understanding the different developmental levels of “followers” as well as the appropriate leadership style to apply to each follower level. We also explore motivational models, and the principles for transforming and growing your team. Included is our proprietary “inverted pyramid” model that helps shift from a culture of blame and fear into a culture of empowerment and evolution!
While there is discussion, we make every effort to keep the training active and engaging, using mini-activities to bring home and crystallize the learning points. Before the program even begins our professional facilitator will schedule a call to discuss your particular needs, concerns, problem areas and determine if there are specific areas of Leadership that warrant extra emphasis during the program. We can also work in any themes, keywords or concepts into the training to custom-tailor it to larger events.
The program begins with the facilitator introducing the day and doing a fun ice-breaker to set the tone and get people in the right space. Intentions with the group are then set, including coming to an agreement with the room as to why the best companies in the world do exactly this kind of training, and what the group would like to get out of the day. From there, the facilitator begins by engaging the room in a brainstorm of good and bad leadership, and the differences between leadership and management.
Once the framework is set, we begin to delve into “old models” of management (which are often still in practice) and provide the paradigm shift of Situational Leadership! Learning points include:
- Understanding Follower Developmental Levels
- Adapting Appropriate Leadership Styles
- How To Motivate and Engage Followers
- Principles of Self Leadership
- Good Leadership vs. Poor Management
- Evolutionary Cycle of Followers
- Inverting the Corporate Hierarchy
- Creating a Culture of Empowerment
The event is not just a “talking head” – learning points will be discussed in a facilitated dialogue. This will be followed by experiential activities that drive the concepts home in a fun, engaging and interactive way!
More than ever, companies are looking to get value from funds they spend on education and events for their staff. Combining the element of professional development with engaging activities is a great way to do this!
